Happy Holidays... Most of our free time lately has been spent chasing steelhead in New York. For those of you who haven't tried it, I recommend stopping in the shop and getting some info. Its a great way to spend the winter offseason (although there's really no offseason on the Lack - we fish all year round). The water is currently at a perfect level and the temp is amazing for this time of year. Take advantage of it. I'm sure weather we're more accustomed to is on the way. We've been catching some fish on woolly buggers, tiny black stonefly nymphs, small pheasant tails and zebra midges. Non-traditional patterns also work well this time of year such as Scuds, Sow Bugs & San Juan Worms. Hatches out now: BWO's (18-22), Black Midges (20-24) & Tiny Black Stoneflies (14-18). Please call the shop with any questions, 570-489-1650. And remember, PLEASE practice catch & release and revive all fish fully and properly. See How... Adam, A&G

Delaware River _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Today is our last official day open for the season –at least for the shop –our webstore never sleeps! Thanks to everyone for a great year –can’t wait for next spring! We will be in the office Monday –Friday, from 10AM –3PM daily if you do need us for anything.I will still be periodically updating the blog,so keep checking your RSS feeds and the like! We will be at the Fly Fishing Show in New Jersey again this January,so be sure to see us there. The fishing is definitely not over, however –we actually had some half-frozen pseudos sitting on the screens this morning. The influx of cold water from the melt-off will without a doubt affect the fishing for the next day or two,but the warmer weather in the forecast should heat up the water a bit,and the bugs will hopefully be back for one last big hurrah! Have a great week! Hatches: Isonychia bicolor –Iso/Slate Drake #12-2XL Stenonema sp. - Light Cahill #12-#14 Ephemerella deficiens- Blue Wing Olive #14 Pseudocloeon - Little BWO’s- #22-#26 (Courtesy of The Delaware River Club, Starlight, PA, 10-31-11) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ No current river report.
(Discharge: Until 11:59PM SUN, JAN. 15, then N/A CFS) Please check the waterline for the latest update with the recent rain the water level has been increased. On Friday we started out in the mid 30's with heavy rain but it quickly changed over to snow. It snowed all day along with high winds and the temperature continued to drop throughout the day. The anglers we have staying in the motel made the most of difficult conditions, but they reported landing fish in the upper and lower end of the river. The upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville is getting the most fishing pressure with fish holding in and around the deeper holes. The mid to lower section of river is a good choice if your looking for fresh fish and trying to avoid other anglers. The Lower Fly Zone, Schoolhouse Pool, Wire Hole, Trestle Pool, Pineville, Sportsman Pool, Longbridge/Staircase and the DSR have all been producing fish. For those anglers who are flyfishing egg patterns and nymphs continue to produce on a daily basis. For those anglers who are float fishing egg sacs and trout beads continue to be very productive. (We had a few customers fish the middle of this week, even through the bitter cold of Tuesday and Wednesday. Even with the colder weather, fishing was still good. The hooked a number of fish over 3 days in the Lower fly section, having most of their action on stoneflies. There were very few people on the water and the action was consistent. - Adam, A&G)
